Meet the Tutor
Angela Graham
With over 30 years of experience in the educational field (including being the Owner/Operator at a Montessori School in Toronto for almost 20 years), Angela has dedicated her career to helping children build strong literacy skills, confidence, and an absolute love of learning.
In addition, Open Book Tutoring Centre has proudly been serving the Waterdown community for the past eight years, supporting local families and helping children become competent, successful readers!
Our Story
At Open Book Tutoring Centre, we offer a phonics-based reading program that ensures that all of our students develop strong reading and comprehension skills. Our program is designed to build solid literacy foundations and phonemic awareness, while helping children develop a genuine love of learning. Hence, the focus is on teaching children how to read using the sounds and structure of the language, as opposed to memorization and/or the guessing of words.
Our program supports children of all ages and grades - from early learners to older students who may benefit from strengthening their reading and language skills.

Our Approach to Learning
We provide both upbeat and engaging small group and one-on-one lessons that are designed to strengthen core learning foundations, build lasting confidence, and empower every child to reach their full potential.
